What RantWall is

RantWall is a place to post short rants (20 to 500 characters), as yourself or anonymously, react to other people's rants, and share them as image cards. Anyone can read the wall. You need an account to post, react, save, report or block.

We are an intermediary under section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Users write the rants; they are the users' views, not ours. We don't check whether what a rant says is true.

Who can use RantWall

RantWall is for adults only. You must be 18 or older. You confirm this when you enter the site and again when you create an account, and by using RantWall you confirm that you can enter into a binding contract under Indian law.

You can't use RantWall if we have banned you before, or if the law doesn't allow you to.

Your account

• You can sign in with an Indian mobile number (we text you a one-time code), with an email address (a login code or a password), or with Google.
• Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us at hello@rantwall.app if you think someone else is using it.
• Give us true details. Don't sign up with a number or email address that isn't yours.
• We give you a random username at signup. A username must not impersonate a person or brand, contain a slur, or break the Community Rules. After a change, the next one is possible after 30 days, and a name you give up stays locked for 30 days so nobody can pose as you.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What that removes is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Posting anonymously

You can post a rant anonymously. Other users then see a random handle (like "Angry Samosa #482") instead of your username or sticker, and the rant never appears on your profile or counts toward your public stats or badges. You can turn a named rant into an anonymous one later, but not the other way round.

Anonymous means anonymous to other users. It does not mean anonymous to us or to the law. We keep the link between an anonymous rant and your account so we can moderate, act on complaints and follow the law. Only a few authorised staff can look at it, they must record a reason, and every look is logged. We will disclose it when a court or an authorised government agency lawfully requires us to.

What you must not post

Follow the Community Rules: no names, no numbers, no hate, no swearing (abbreviations are fine), no threats, no sexual content and no self-harm content. Rant about situations, not identifiable people.

As the IT Rules require, you must not host, display, upload, change, publish, send, store, update or share anything (in a rant, username, bio, report note or anywhere else on RantWall) that:

1. belongs to someone else and you don't have the right to share;
2. is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic; invades someone's privacy, including their bodily privacy; insults or harasses anyone because of their gender; is racially or ethnically objectionable; relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling; is an online game that causes harm to users; or promotes enmity between groups on grounds of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence;
3. is harmful to children;
4. infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
5. misleads people about where a message came from, or knowingly and intentionally spreads misinformation or information that is plainly false, untrue or misleading;
6. impersonates another person;
7. threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, India's friendly relations with other countries, or public order; incites anyone to commit a cognisable offence; gets in the way of the investigation of any offence; or insults another nation;
8. contains a software virus or any other code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit how a computer resource works;
9. is an online game that has not been verified as a permissible online game, or advertises or promotes (including surrogate advertising) such a game or a platform offering one;
10. breaks any law in force in India.

You also must not use RantWall for spam, advertising or promotions, or to harass, bully, stalk or expose anyone.

How we moderate

• Before a rant is published, it goes through automated checks: pattern checks for phone numbers, email addresses and links, and then an AI classifier. A rant can be published, held for a moderator to review, or not published, with the reason shown to you. Usernames and bios are checked the same way.
• If a rant suggests that you may be in distress, we hold it back from the wall and show you the Tele-MANAS helpline (14416, free, 24x7). A moderator then reviews it.
• Anyone signed in can report a rant. When 3 people whose accounts are at least a day old report it, the rant is hidden until a moderator reviews it.
• Moderators can publish, keep hidden, reject or remove rants. Authorised staff can also limit who sees an account's rants, or ban an account. A banned account can't log in, and its rants come down.
• When a rant of yours is not published or is removed, we tell you in a private notice with the reason. We may not give notice where the law doesn't allow it, or where it would help someone get around our safety measures.

We are not required to monitor everything on RantWall, and we may miss things. Breaking these Terms or the Community Rules can lead to your content being removed and your access being suspended or ended, immediately and with or without notice, as allowed by law.

Your content and our licence

You own what you post. You must have the right to post it.

So that RantWall can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, format, display and distribute your rants on RantWall, including:

• showing them on the wall, channel pages, profiles (named rants only) and each rant's own page, which anyone can open and search engines can index;
• making share cards: images of a rant with the RantWall design, which you and others can download or share to apps like WhatsApp and Instagram;
• posting share cards or quotes of rants on RantWall's own social media accounts to promote RantWall.

Wherever we show an anonymous rant, including on share cards, we show only its random handle, never your username.

The licence ends when the content is deleted from RantWall, except for copies others have already shared outside RantWall (which we can't pull back) and anything we must keep by law.

Merchandise

We plan to print some of the best rants on merchandise such as T-shirts. This isn't live yet. We will not put your rant on paid merchandise without asking you first and getting your consent. For an anonymous rant we ask through a private notice in the app, so your identity stays private. You can say no. Any extra terms for merchandise will be shown when it launches.

Using RantWall fairly

You must not:

• try to find out who wrote an anonymous rant, or link anonymous rants to people;
• scrape, crawl or copy RantWall in bulk, or use bots or automated accounts;
• get around bans, rate limits, bot checks or other safety measures;
• inflate reactions, views, shares or reports, or file reports you know are false;
• abuse our sign-in by text message (for example by requesting codes for numbers that aren't yours);
• break, overload, probe or reverse engineer RantWall, or bring in viruses or harmful code.

Reaction counts, views, shares, saves, karma and badges are for fun. They have no money value, and we can correct them if they were gamed or counted wrongly.

Our name and design

The RantWall name, the brick mascot, logos, reaction stickers, badges and the site's design belong to us. Don't use them without our written permission, except to share rants as RantWall lets you.

Complaints and grievances

To complain about content, about an action we took, or about how we handle your data, contact our Grievance Officer, Akshay Joshi, at grievance@rantwall.app. The Grievance Redressal page explains what to send, how fast we respond, and how to appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee.

Legal requests

We comply with valid orders from courts and authorised government agencies. That can mean removing or disabling access to content, preserving information, and sharing information we hold about an account, including the account behind an anonymous rant, within the time the law requires.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using RantWall and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access, or remove content, if you break these Terms or the Community Rules, if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect users or RantWall. Some records stay after an account ends, as the Privacy Policy explains.

Disclaimers and liability

RantWall is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we don't endorse what users post.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for content posted by users, or for any indirect or consequential loss, or loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of RantWall. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't be limited under Indian law.

If a claim is made against us because of what you posted or because you broke these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from it, as far as the law allows.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will give notice on RantWall. If you keep using RantWall after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your right to approach the Grievance Appellate Committee and any other forum the law gives you, the courts at Ahmedabad have exclusive jurisdiction.
