Community Rules

RantWall is for letting it out, not for taking someone down. Rant about what happened, not about who. These rules apply to rants, usernames, bios and report notes. They're short on purpose, and we enforce them.
No names
Don't name, tag or describe real people so that others can tell who they are: no names, no nicknames that point to one person ("Sharma ji from accounts"), no social media handles, no photos. In Client Horror, no company or client names either. The industry and the amount say enough.
No numbers
No phone numbers, email addresses, home or office addresses, links, or ID, account or vehicle numbers. Links to rants on RantWall are fine. Amounts are fine too: "client still owes me ₹45K" is a rant, not a number. Our checks stop most of these before a rant goes up.
No hate
No attacks, slurs or stereotypes against any religion, caste, gender, region or community. Be angry at the situation, not at a group of people.
No swearing
Keep it clean. Abbreviations are fine: wtf, lol and friends can stay. Spell the swear words out and your rant can come down.
No threats
No threats, no calls for violence, no wishing harm on anyone, and no pushing anyone to break the law. Not even as a joke.
Situations, not people
Boss made you work on Diwali? Rant about the Diwali shift, not about the boss. If someone could read your rant and work out who it's about, rewrite it.
No sexual content
Nothing sexual or explicit, and never anything involving a child. Never share intimate images or private details of anyone.
No self-harm content
No content that encourages or describes self-harm or suicide. If you're going through something heavy, you are not alone. Tele-MANAS is free and open 24x7: call 14416. If a rant suggests someone may be in distress, we keep it off the wall and show them the helpline.
Also not allowed
- spam, ads or promotions;
- pretending to be someone else;
- sharing what isn't yours to share;
- passing off lies as facts, or spreading misinformation;
- anything illegal, obscene or harmful to children;
- gambling, betting or unapproved online games;
- anything that threatens India's security or public order;
- viruses or harmful code.
How we check
Every rant goes through an automated check before it goes live: first for phone numbers, emails and links, then an AI check. Some rants wait for a moderator. If yours doesn't go up, we tell you why, so you can fix it and post again. Once a rant is live, anyone signed in can report it. 3 reports from accounts at least a day old hide it until a moderator has a look.
Break the rules and
- your rant doesn't go up, or comes down, and you get a private notice with the reason;
- do it again and we can limit who sees your rants, suspend your account, or ban it for good;
- if it breaks the law, we may have to keep it and share information with the authorities.
