If something on RantWall harms you, breaks the law or our rules, or if you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you can complain to our Grievance Officer. You don't need a RantWall account to complain.

How to complain

Email grievance@rantwall.app (or write to the address above) with:

  • your name and an email address or phone number where we can reach you;
  • the link to the rant (it looks like rantwall.app/r/...) or the username you are complaining about;
  • what is wrong, and which rule or law you think it breaks;
  • if the content shows you or is about you, say so, or say that you are writing on behalf of that person;
  • for a request about your own data (a summary, a correction, deletion or a nominee), the mobile number or email address you use to log in, so we can find your account.

Signed-in users can also report a rant from its "..." menu. That is the fastest way to flag a rant that breaks the Community Rules, and it goes straight to our moderators.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours.
  • We resolve it within 15 days of receiving it, or sooner where the law requires.
  • A request to remove content that falls under the list of prohibited content in our Terms is acted on as fast as possible, and within 72 hours.
  • If a rant exposes your private areas, shows you fully or partly nude or in a sexual act, or impersonates you (including with a morphed image), complain yourself or through someone on your behalf, and we take all reasonable steps to remove it or disable access to it within 24 hours.
  • We tell you what we decided and why.

If you are not satisfied

You can appeal the Grievance Officer's decision to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India, within 30 days of receiving it, online at https://gac.gov.in.

For a complaint about your personal data, once you have used our grievance route you can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Courts and government agencies

Send court orders and notices from authorised government agencies to grievance@rantwall.app. We act on valid orders, remove or disable access to content, preserve information and provide the information the law requires, within the time the law sets.
